One from Christmas (past)

I decided I need to tell you about the photo quilt I made for our neighbor.  Gary is fairly new to our neighborhood.  He bought the house a little over a year and we LOVE him.   So when he asked if I would make his daughter and finance a quilt for Christmas...I absolutely said yes!  I love EQ and did up a couple variations.  He picked the one he liked and colors and OFF I went!

Fabrics were purchased from Thousand Bolts and One Nut. (love their design wall)

Cut to the chase...here it is

Being the sweetest Dad in our subdivision - he thought it would be a cute idea to make pillow cases - then Madison can sleep on Nate and Nate can sleep on Madison...lol  I had 2 extra photos for I just threw in the 2 decorative pillows.  I really loved making this one.  And the results were amazing.  During their Christmas gift giving Gary followed Bill's suggestion.  First he gave them the pillow cases..  They thought they were CUTE!...  Then he gave them the pillows...and Madison and Nate thanked Gary for the wonderful gifts...THEN he gave them the quilt.  Gary said they were in shock.  They couldn't believe it.  Gary said there wasn't a dry eye in the house!  Madison and Nate had to leave to attend a few more Christmas celebrations...and the quilt went with them to each party.  (I'm wondering what I would feel if someone brought a gift like that into our party while I had matching Ugly Christmas sweaters for them)   I have to admit that I felt REALLY good when Gary told me about it.  Knowing that I have given someone something totally unexpected and totally appreciated and will be cherished from this day forward... OH and Madison SO loved the label that she took a picture of it and enlarged it and it is hanging on their wall...HOW cool is THAT!
