A new week - a busy one

Good Sunday afternoon to all.

De received her quilt on Friday - Here is the message I received from her on Facebook

IT JUST GOT HERE AND IT LOOKS AWSOME!!!!! i cant thank you enough for all the work you did for me. thank you again so very much and i will let yo know how the family likes it. have a great weekend and i know we will do this again very soon. thank you thank you :DD de

I'm just so pleased that she is happy.

Friday I met with Lindsay and Phyllis.  Phyllis picked up 2 and gave me one.  Lindsay gave me one - and said she needed it by the end of the month.  I loaded it on the frame on Saturday morning and started to work on it.

Isn't it so pretty?  It is a disappearing 9 patch.  Who knew scappy swaps could turn out with charm and so colorful!  I worked on it Friday most of the day.  Dinner time Bill thought I needed a break so we grabbed a sandwich in town, a frosty, and went driving around looking for land to buy.

Here is the start and the backing - Such a pretty color red (picture is a little fuzzy) Did you know it is extremely uncomfortable to try and get a picture of the backing by holding your camera upside down and UNDER the frame?  BUT the finished results this afternoon are amazing!  Look at this!

Lindsay - I just have to say this one was so much fun to work on!  I never would have guessed that swap blocks could turn out so great!  Very nicely put together to!  Thanks for having trust in me Lindsay - see ya tomorrow.  Now on to another one for Phyllis...should I do the scrappy one or the hand appliqued one?

After I pick one and (hopefully) get it done before Thursday.. I'm heading out for our Guild's spring retreat up at KY Dam Village.  I went last spring's and had a great time and even finished a lot of UFOs.  This year's plan is to work on my black/white/1color challenge for an upcoming retreat in June.  Then if I get board working on that I have a jelly roll that I'm going to make something out of.  If I can find my book.

Hope everyone survived the "spring" ahead clock change...all I know is I'm ready for a nap.

Great quilting as always Shirley. I love the way she set the blocks. Really makes them pop!
